Tetwiis Update

Following the successful rollout of BootMii Config Editor v2.5, I’ve now recompiled Tetwiis with the latest devkitpro and GRRLib (again this took a bit of time!).

This means I can now resume some development effort on Tetwiis, including adding a high score table, making it work from a USB Hard Disk as well as SD, and also adding in button repeat so you can hold down a direction rather than having to keep pressing, plus I’d like to save the menu options, and perhaps even make the backgrounds loaded during the game dynamic.  I’m also going to try and fix the sound loop bug.

Hopefully after adding these, some nice person might nominate this as a featured homebrew app on wiibrew as I’m sure it already covers off most of the required criteria!  To help this along, if anyone does nominate me, I’m going to record an up to date video of 0.2b and get this onto youtube.

Any release of this will be a while away, so don’t build up your hopes for something within the next couple of weeks!

BootMii Beta 5 Bugs

If you look at the link below, you’ll be able to download a new bootmii binary to fix some of the bugs that were introduced in the latest version (beta 5) installed through the v0.7 hackmii installer.  Some of these being…

  • FS#38 – After NAND Backup to SD card, when navigating to BootMii menu, and then entering SD option, FREEZE
  • FS#338 – Autoboot delay broken
  • FS#347 – Bootmii b5 freezes on uncorrectable ECC Failure
  • FS#174 – Bootmii as IOS.. ignore some of the INI

Once downloaded replace the file in your /bootmii (or /~bootmii) directory and enable bootmii through the configuration editor (V2.5) if it isn’t already and you should be able to use boot delay 0 (zero) again!

BootMii Configuration Editor v2.5 Released!

This update is available from the following link, or using the auto update functionality present within BootMii Configuration Editor v2.4.  To update from v2.4 to v2.5 simply start the editor from the homebrew channel and the new version will be detected and downloaded should you choose to update.

Changes in this release are:

  • Implementation Of BootMii Switch functionality.  Can enable/disable BootMii through the editor by renaming the directory from /bootmii to /~bootmii and vice versa
  • If /bootmii and /~bootmii exist you are given the option to switch the directories allowing you to use an alternate MINI implementation such as MIKE or cboot2.
  • If bootmii.ini exists in both directories you are given the choice of which to edit.
  • The homebrew channel icon is swapped depending on the mode to give an indication of the bootmii status.  A green circle indicates bootmii is enabled, a red circle indicates bootmii is disabled, and an orange circle indicates you are running in switch mode.
  • Several fixes to resolve various minor issues.

BootMii Configuration Editor (v2.5) update information

It’s nearly done – from the editor you can now disable/enable bootmii which ultimately renames /bootmii to /~bootmii.

If you’ve got a /bootmii and a /~bootmii then it goes into ‘swap’ mode where it’ll give you the option to swap the directories so you could have mike or cboot2 in the ~bootmii directory and swap it in via the editor.  The icon in the homebrew channel is updated to indicate the status (enabled/disabled/switch mode).

I’m hoping to add a bit more functionality and tidy it up before release, so expect this in around a week or so.
